Glass and Metal Research
I have been researching how to create glass artwork utilizing Intaglio printing techniques. After completing my fellowship at Uclan with Artlab Contemporary Print, I was looking to keep researching these techniques in their premises. Due to Covid19 restrictions I was forced to rethink my practice and my experimentation lead me to creating metal and abstract kiln formed glass sculptures. I have been teaching myself techniques and Currently I am looking into taking courses in glass working and have negotiated a residency within a classic car restoration workshop, DWH & SON AUTO RESTORERS in which I will learn welding and fabrication techniques. I am currently experimenting with non toxic etching techniues in sheets of aluminium to then fabricate them into 3D artwork. Here are some examples.
